Greater Manchester and Warrington have embarked upon an extremely ambitious Total Place pilot. They plan to boost future economic productivity by focusing now 0-5 year olds, ensuring they are best prepared to start school. The idea is a simple one, intervene at a younger age and you save on the more expensive and less effective interventions later in life. The result, it is hoped, will be an aspirational and more prosperous Manchester in years to come.
