Denbighshire County Council

Garry Davies, aged 41, has worked in Local Government for 15 years including 12 years with Denbighshire County Council in his current role as Countryside Officer. Garry has been nominated for an act of bravery after he jumped into the sea with another member of the public to rescue a man spotted in difficulty off the North Wales coast. They managed to bring the man to the shore, but despite their efforts, the man was confirmed to have died. Garry has been nominated by the Council’s Chief Executive for the act of extreme bravery – Garry acted well beyond the call of duty and did not hesitate in jumping into the icy waters in the efforts to bring the man to safety.
